Nursery Update

What we've been up to this week - Friday 23rd January

This week in Nursery, the children have continued to settle beautifully into our Spring term routines. We have been enjoying a range of activities focused on Superworm and a lot of our activities have been building the children’s fine motor strength. We are working with the children on friendships and this week talked about how we can have lots of different friends.

We are also continuing to encourage independence through simple daily tasks. It has been lovely to see their confidence grow each day and we have been giving out a steady stream of our rainbow postcards!

Next week, we will be looking at the composition of number 4. We will be making some number 4 muffin pizzas. Please do let us know if there are any allergens we need to be aware of.

Little City

As part of our Super Me topic, we will have a visit from Little City; a mobile role play city. This links to our part of the topic where we talk about real life superheroes that help us. The children will have a session in the morning to explore and have fun in the city. This is our Beyond the Classroom visit this term and is covered by the £60 contribution we ask for.

Number Day

We are delighted to be supporting the NSPCC by taking part in Number Day on Thursday 5th February 2026.

We will be having a fun day of maths activities, and we will be taking part in Dress up for Digits. Pupils are asked to wear an item of clothing with a number on it (sports top, football, rugby, netball, hockey shirt or cap). Or get even more creative and become a human calculator, dice or domino by dressing in a maths or numbers theme. To help raise money for the NSPCC, we are asking for donations, and we’d love everyone in the school to take part in this special event.

Below is the link to the JustGiving page. All money raised goes to the NSPCC and the incredible work they do. https://www.justgiving.com/page/numberday?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL

Enrichment Fund

We ask for a voluntary £10 contribution every half term to buy classroom consumables of our curriculum (Cooking, replenishing table top consumables such as playdoh, shaving foam e.t.c). This is £10 cash in the class, which we use to ensure the children have a fun filled, exciting curriculum. Please do give that to one of us at the door.

  • Please send your child in with a water bottle. This can be kept at school all week and taken home on a Friday, or it can come home every day. Please ensure water bottles are labelled.
  • Please ensure that children have a full set of spare clothes in case of accidents.
  • Please do also ensure that all clothes are labelled so that we can reunite them with their owners!
  • If your child is doing Mini Explorers, please ensure they have a packed lunch each day (No nuts) Whole grapes are a choking hazard so please ensure they are cut in half or quarters.
  • A reminder that morning drop-off is flexi between 8:30 – 9. Afternoon drop of is 12:30. Afternoon collection is flexi between 3:10-3:30.
  • Please don’t send children in with toys from home. The children have plenty to play with in class and we cannot be responsible for things that get lost or broken (the exception to this would be a comfort toy that your child might need to bring if they’re finding settling tricky and this can be discussed with one of us)
