Our approach to Maths

Context behind curriculum delivery 

At Hollymount School, we use the White Rose Maths schemes of learning, which are designed to support a mastery approach to teaching and learning and are consistent with the aims and objectives of the National Curriculum. Lessons are designed to enable children to learn and explore each area of mathematics in depth. This is achieved by progressing through each concept in small steps, to ensure children develop a long-term, secure and adaptable understanding of the subject. They are encouraged to make connections between concepts and to use their skills and understanding to solve problems both in school and in real-life situations. ​
