Reception
What to expect from Reception
The first statutory year of education and such an important stage of development for children. Reception is often an exciting but also anxious time for parents. It could be the first time you leave your child, the first time you see your child making friends, learning phonics knowledge, reading, talking about maths and experiencing long days! All with the aims of laying the foundations to prepare your child socially, personally and academically for the years to come.
Within the first six weeks your child will be assessed against the 'reception baseline' standards set by the DFE - Click here to find out more
The children will be working on mastering the Early Learning Goals, which are broken down nicely in the following document.
