Message from the teachers

Dear Year 2 Parents,

It has been a busy and exciting couple of weeks in Year 2. The children have embraced new learning experiences with great enthusiasm and have continued to impress us with their curiosity, determination and positive attitudes to learning.

In Science, the children have now begun their new topic on Living Things and Habitats. To launch this exciting unit, the children thoroughly enjoyed a visit from the Science Explorer Dome, where they learnt more about the Earth and its different habitats. The experience sparked lots of curiosity and enthusiasm for their new learning.

The children also thoroughly immersed themselves in an online workshop with the Royal Opera and Ballet House, which focused on the world of opera. During the workshop, we were joined by hundreds of children from schools across the country, creating a wonderful shared learning experience. The children sang beautifully throughout the session and engaged brilliantly with the activities and discussions, showing great creativity, enthusiasm and confidence.

We have now completed our summer term assessments and the children worked incredibly hard throughout. We were very proud of the positive attitude, perseverance and maturity they showed during assessment week.

A quick reminder that children should bring a healthy snack for morning break time, such as fruit, vegetables, cheese or crackers. Please do not send crisps or other confectionery items, as these are not permitted as break-time snacks. Thank you for your support in helping us promote healthy eating habits.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We look forward to another exciting few weeks of learning in Year 2.

Kind regards,

The Year 2 Team
