Message from the teachers

Dear Year 3 Parents and Carers,

We hope you all had a lovely half-term. This week we have kicked things off with an Assessment Week where children took their NFER tests for the Spring Term. The outcomes of these tests help inform out overall picture of how children are doing with the learning goals of Year 3. So far, we are impressed with how well children have done and what great learning they have done since the beginning of the year. 

March 5th is World Book Day and Hollymount is excited to show off our love of reading! The children will have a day packed with events that focus on reading for please including a Book Sampling Workshop, a visit to the Reading Café, Door Decorating Contest and Book Buddies.  

 On the day, children can come, if they choose, dressed as an appropriate character from their favourite book.

An update from the classroom and the teaching and learning taking place

* Dates for Changing Fluency Books- Children need to bring  in their reading records every Monday to be checked but only bring in their Fluency books on these dates to be changed:

16th March

14th april

4th May

1st June

22nd June

13th July (all books returned)

* Timestable tests- Some parents have asked about the order of timestable test that children will do. Hopefully this will help you study at home:
